Welcome To EDS-Kids
EDS Kids is a support group and community dedicated to helping children and young adult who suffer from chronic pain resulting from illnesses and genetic conditions like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS for short) is a genetic connective tissue disorder which primarily causes chronic joint pain and joint dislocations. EDS Kids is a community dedicated to helping not only sufferers of EDS but their family and friends too.

Oh, and as for bringing it up to a doctor, have you tried a geneticist? If you describe your symptoms and history, he/she should be able to prove or disprove the EDS hypothesis. It only took my doc one visit before he diagnosed me.

I spoke to my PT first who told me to call my doctor who hadn't even thought of EDS! She was like "Oh yeah!" and referred me to a geneticist.

Welcome Andy!
I'm the administrator here at EDSkids, and to me, it sounds like you could very well have EDS.

Have you tried talking with a geneticist? What gave you the insight that you may have EDS?

Going through this whole process is rough, I know, but we're all here to support each other, and I hope you do get some validation talking to everyone here!

With that being said, I want to welcome you and let you know that if you need ANYTHING I am here. Whether it may be a listening ear or shoulder to cry on. Whichever!
