Welcome To EDS-Kids
EDS Kids is a support group and community dedicated to helping children and young adult who suffer from chronic pain resulting from illnesses and genetic conditions like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS for short) is a genetic connective tissue disorder which primarily causes chronic joint pain and joint dislocations. EDS Kids is a community dedicated to helping not only sufferers of EDS but their family and friends too.

broken clavicle

this evening 22.30, at the ER:
Me: i came here because i dislocated my clavicle
orthopedic: well, you're clavicle and shoulder is perfect, maybe it could be muscular pain, did you do any strange sport? it could also be psychosomatic pain.
m.: no, i'm not lying, i tell you there's something wrong!
orth: we'll make the xrays anyway, so that you're happy
me:right
(after a hour: x rays)
nurse: come in, the medical report is here
doctor: well, you're clavicle is broken
me:WHAT???
doc:yes, it is broken. were you at school when you fell?
me:i did not fell!
doc:you did what?
me:i laughed.
doc:you what?
me:i laughed, i said.
doc:you broke your clavicle laughing????
me:i ask myself too
(orthopedics comes in)
ort:here we are, everything's ok, right?
doc:she broke her clavicle laughing.
ort: you kidding me???
doc: no way

they both looking at me with those wide eyes O.O

i don't know how the hell i broke it, guys.
the only thing i know is that it hurts quite a lot.

I think with EDS, anything can dislocate or break lol. It doesn't surprise me! I hope you feel better!! How does it heal? I know nothing about the clavicle.

Ouch. I broke my clavicle too. It's like the bone that is connected to your shoulders and neck. It's veryyyy painful and takes about 6-8 weekes to heal. They give you this little rinky dink brace that looks almost like a gun holster thing you see guys on shooting movies wear. It's weird.

But anyways. I hope you feel better Chiara!

Haha. I am clutsy as anything, and well.. playing volleyball in gym before I found out that I had EDS.. I went to dive for the ball and dislocated my right shoulder and broke my clavicle. It sucked so bad.



But yeah.. every now and then it hurts REALLY bad so I put my clavicle brace back on and it seems to do the trick!
