Yes and yes.
Mogigraphia is a fancy word for writing cramps!!!! My mom and I cramp so badly we've broken our writing implements!
Oh and we both have severe back pain...hers is more from injuries and mine's more from hypermobility and autoimmune arthritis.

Because apparantly, it will make me muscles more lazy :/

Yeah but that's only if you wear them ALL the time...occasional support will be beneficial in the long run b/c it helps you conserve your joints/muscles esp if you're injured.

So I was just reading all of you all's posts, and I just am wondering if I have Mogigraphia.. I say this because, when writing papers for college, I have to stop like every 3 minutes or so and grab my hand and hold back tears because my thumb and other muscles in my hand hurt..
Should I look into this?

Yeahh. cause i get the same. Cause if you do have it, you can get extra time on your exams.

Found out today, I get 20% extra time and a break in the middle if needed. Just shows if you keep enquiring about something, you will get an answer as we have been trying to get this for 2 years now.

:) I sent in a whole bunch of paper work into my disability worker for my school, and they are allowing me more time and such. :) That will be A GREAT HELP! I'm also getting a thumb brace and I am hoping it won't hurt !

Yeah, I was pretty stoked about it. Whenever I write my hands cramp up so bad and almost literally bring tears to my eyes. :( But hopefully, that will get better with the braces and what nots!

So how has the extra time and what nots been helping you?

Well, for my RS (Religious Studies) exam, I had to do an hours worth of writing, with the extra time, that came to about 1:15 hours. That helped sooo much!! It also helped with my Health and Social Care exam, as that was the same amount of time. I don't think I would of been able to finosh the exams without the extra time

Yeah! I bet. That is A LOT of writing!
Most of my college professors allow me to have my laptop in class to take notes on. :) That makes things a lot of easier.
But it's hard when I have math, especially a lot of it, because you don't do that on the computer, because it's really hard and time consuming to do that. :( Ugh. If only they made an easier way to do math for people like us!

I just can't do maths all together! Yet somehow, all the exams so far have been a B lol.

I have a scribe in my exams because some days I cant even hold a pen without getting severe cramps and i use a laptop for taking notes but in physics because its all maths I have a scribe for that aswell because it would be impossible to take notes on a laptop.
I also get really bad back ache so get breaks in my exams whenever i need them and i get a comfier chair than other people

My sister has scoliosis. In addition to a side-to-side curve, when images of her back were taken from the side, you can see that the 3 curves in her back (everyone has those three curves that run front to back) aren't as curved as they should be. They look more like zigzags that curves, and according to her doc, they add a fair amount of pain.

Ouch. I don't think I have the zig-zaggyness but I definitely have the over curved spine! :(

I found out that my xrays caught part of my cervical spine MOVING around...the vertebrae wiggle and i'm only straight w/my head tilted backward. Well I obviously can't walk around like that!

Yea, my sister's weird. I'm surprised she's not on here... May have to remind her about it. Not like she has anything to do during the days she stays home from work.

This forum has done wonders for me!
Because it is full of people who actually understand and don't just nod.

Agree with you 100%, on that Sophie! Sometimes, I cry myself to sleep because I know only one family with EDS in my state, and they have strictly the Classical type and don't understand the daily dislocations and the chronic pain that comes with it, and I then feel as if I am alone.. but then I come on here, and you all help me tremendously! :hugs::smile:
Brooke, have you mentioned anything about EDSkids to your sister?:side eyes:

Haha, totally agree :)
xxBrittany
09-23-2011, 01:31 AM
Then I'd have EDS, among other disorders and be in an insane asylum!
