God Complex!

I SWEAR most doctors have a God complex!

I slipped on some ice and seriously injured my hips and elbow. That week I took a little extra pain meds because of the injury, so I ran out a week early. I called the pain clinic to let them know, and they informed me that Dr. Dimon was away on holiday so they couldn't get me my pain meds. The nurse suggested that I either go to the ER or to my family doctor.

SO I went to my family doctor, who prescribed me enough till the next time i saw Dimon.

When I went to go see Dimon, he was catatonic! He was so angry that I went to another doctor for pain meds; and then when I told him that I was only doing what the nurse told me to do, he replied with "there's NO way a nurse would EVER tell you that!" I said "Are you calling me a liar?" He replied with "No that's not what I'm saying." So I said "What ARE you saying?" He said "I'm saying someone's not telling the truth." (Uh... isn't that LYING?!)

Him and the entire pain clinic dropped me as a patient and because of what happened the other pain clinic that takes our insurance won't take me either. I am completely out of medication now. I am in severe pain, and very angry. UGH.

WHOA.

My pain clinic has you report that you did this RIGHT AWAY even after you did it. I wonder if you'd done that if things would have changed. Like...report you got extra before you get the extra and after to verify...and the Dr. has to be involved too.

Think the nurse will 'fess up?

Can your family doctor help in any way...a psych if you have one????? Because this was just a mistake...but then again....

Maybe I can talk to my pain dr for ideas on what to do?

that seems completely unfair to just drop you like that! do you know the nurses name that told you that? have your mom or dad called the pain clinic and talked to the manager of the office and explained what happened? maybe if you let them know that they will be hearing from your attorney will scare them and they will look into the matter LOL.
